My Tales of the Grotesque and Dungeonesque book got a really nice review over at RPG.Net, courtesy of Humza Kazmi. (Incidentally, the softcover is still on sale for a mere $11.99 and still free in pdf; links to the right.)
To celebrate this joyous occasion, here, have some free stuff:
Gothic Earth Grimoire (8 pages of spells)
Gothic Earth Grimoire (8 pages of spells)
Gothic Earth Bestiary (32 pages of monsters and tables for customizing monsters)
Both of these pdfs are from my current Gothic Earth campaign; some of the content has appeared here on the blog but some has not yet been seen in print here or elsewhere. Even the old stuff has been re-flavored for a Gothic Fantasy campaign that draws its inspiration from real-world oddities and horror. Enjoy!

You should get nice comments for your work. The PDF is packed with off the shelf goodies. I pirate freely. Top notch stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's not piracy if I'm ringing the dinner bell while saying, "Come and get it!" right?
DeleteNice work! I can't wait to put my players against some of those monsters!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, thanks!
DeleteI'm looking forward to a volume 2, at the rate you put out material.
ReplyDeleteI'll have a big pdf to put up in October!
DeleteJack, that is very good and useful stuff, as usual. I especially like the Argento-homage; those birds will most certainly make their way into my renaissance Italy campaign.
ReplyDeleteSo thanx and props.
Thanks! I was hoping someone would catch the Argento allusion!
DeleteLooking forward to reading these. I picked up TotG&D last week in hardcover from Lulu - James M. gave it a good review, and I'm trying to design my new campaign with a fair measure of horror, so your book sounded interesting. I was truly blown away - great stuff, keep it coming (I'm now reading your blog) ... I almost want to design a Gothic campaign (but that would be gamer ADD which is already a problem). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
DeleteOh, a quick question - checking LuLu I notice you have another book listed - Tales of the Grotesque & Dungeonesque: Adventures on Gothic Earth. Could you briefly describe how this ties/relates to the Tales of the Grotesque & Dungeonesque I already have. Thanks (I'm guessing there's probably something explaining this somewhere in your blog archives but I wasn't able to find anything yet). Thanks.
DeleteThe Gothic Earth one is a repackage of some of the content from my first book/pdf as well as some new stuff I haven't posted here yet--but it's all been given a makeover for a Gothic Earth (ala Masque of the Red Death) setting. All the stuff that isn't in the first book will be in my second book for the World Between. Basically, I only made the Gothic Earth one because a friend asked me nicely to reflavor that content for him. Hope that helps!
DeleteThanks for the information, Jack. Any tentative date yet for the second book?
DeleteEarly October!
