Instruments of Terror II: Kangling of Funereal Power

Kangling of Funereal Power – A kangling is a trumpet made from a human femur. Most kanglings are used in religious rites meant to pacify a deceased spirit in preparation for its entrance into the afterlife. However, when a kangling is made from the femur of an executed criminal and enchanted according to certain vile rituals it gains the power to summon forth the dead as an undead army. Once per day a Kangling of Funereal Power may be played in such a way as to have the effects of an Animate Dead spell.

  1. I like this.

Ever read Marvel's "Kull" series, when they had the cool painted covers?

I liked in "A Plague Unending" they had a man use a "Commoran Witch Pipe" that conjured creatures "From the strange climes beyond the void" that would then take the appearance from nearby objects and do the command of the pipe wielder. The treacherous Baron Kannub had a man who'd lost his wife in the plague use it and he played it by the charnel pit where the plague bodies were burned, creating a shambling ape like horror of burning charcoal, ash and bones...
