These birds are an unholy
fusion of a large hawk-like bird and a crystalline construct. Birds
with the Crystal Plumage are filled with multicolored, luminescent
liquids. When a Bird with the Crystal Plumage pecks a foe it injects
its victim with the magical elixir contained within its body.

It may not be exactly what Argento had in mind, but it's much more of a challenge for an adventuring party. Any more giallo-inspired monsters plannned?
