EMPTY PALM CRUSHES THE DECEITFUL

aka "The Comics Post"

I often hear comic fans lamenting that "there are no good comics anymore." I can see their point, somewhat. Frankly, I find a lot of what seems popular in the world of comics to be uninteresting and shoddily done.

On the other hand: man...I can't even keep up with all the stuff I want to read, and I'm not even a single-issue kind of guy. I mean, look at that image over to the left. That's the good shit. Thanks to the internet there is a preponderance of the good shit just about everywhere you turn.

It is likely that you do not share my taste in comics. That's fine. But if you're open-minded and can't find good comics to read along the narrow band of popular interest let me make some recommendations:

And that's just the stuff that's still ongoing. There's a couple things I want to mention that finished their runs in recent memory:

  1. Ugh, why must the world be full of such beautiful things which I have neither time nor money to enjoy!

I spend a lot of time between 2015 and 2017 reading webcomics. So, I'm gonna take this opportunity to share some of the best ones which are still updating regularly and are very good.

    Stand Still Stay Silent: http://www.sssscomic.com/
Nordic post apocalypse with body horror and friendship and pretty landscapes, don't read the prologue. Minna Sundberg is a genius with page layout.

    Ava's Demon: http://avasdemon.com/
Scifi fantasy with colorful people and ghosts. Ava's is cool because it takes advantage of the fact that it's a WEB comic, it includes lil videos for key moments, it's a multimedia experience!

    Vattu: http://www.rice-boy.com/
Vattu is the best webcomic, it's 3rd book just finished up so now is the perfect time to read it. It's got some of the best storytelling and worldbuilding that I've ever had the privilege of seeing in a webcomic. There are nomadic grey people with marks on their heads, their are dog people with a whole roman empire aesthetic goin on, there are salamander people who wrestle eachother to divine the future, there are blue and purple people with coral shaped heads. Go read Vattu, please.

    Sakana: http: //www.sakana-comic.com/
    About fish, very cute.
